As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Mechanical design of new product developments using 3D modelling software
• Ensuring product compliance with key ISO and safety standards
• Ensuring that new products meet the requirements of the design brief and target manufacturing cost, as well as current safety legislation
• Supporting and improving existing machines within the product range
• Tailoring standard machines to suit customer bespoke requirements.
• Providing technical support to the sales, purchasing, service and production functions.
• Assisting with the writing of machine manuals.
• Producing stylish machine concepts, engineering drawing specification and bill of material information.
• Overseeing projects from the concept stage through to completion.
• Providing technical information for product documentation including sales brochures, spares lists, maintenance schedules
• Liaising with external vendors.
• Project work - producing / monitoring / reporting of Project plans, Product cost
• Researching and developing innovative ideas.

To be a successful Mechanical Design Engineer you will have:

• Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, Vault, AutoCAD Mechanical 2D and Microsoft Office.
• Minimum BTEC HNC qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Good knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes.
• Good understanding / knowledge of selecting drive elements including, bearings, drive belts and linear products.
• Good understanding of basic sealing elements, e.g. selecting O-ring, shaft seals, etc.
• Excellent sheet metal design and modelling skills.
• Basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Toolmaker to join state-of-the-art injection moulding and toolmaking facilities, housing over 70 injection moulding machines from 50 ton to 1,100 ton.

Toolmaker applicants are welcomed for tool service and repair, or new tool manufacturing.

As a Toolmaker, your duties will include -

• Producing prototypes through to full production OR service, repair and modification of injection mould tools

• Carry out day to day toolmaking activities maintaining tooling availability

• Assessing customer tools and components, investigating the best course of action for repairing or modifying

We are keen to hear from any Toolmaker applicants who are -

• Time served toolmakers with a strong technical knowledge of injection mould tools and general machining

• Competent in the use of manual and standard toolroom equipment (lathes, mills, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders)
• Able to read and understand to drawings and models in both 2D and 3D
• Knowledgeable of CAD CAM software

On offer -

• A negotiable salary depending on experience and specialism (new tooling or mould repairs / modifications)

• Monday - Friday, days. 40 hours per week.
• Training to improve skillset on specific equipment

Based in the Manchester, this role is commutable from Bolton, Rochdale, Oldham, Huddersfield, and all surrounding areas.

As the Maintenance Technician, your duties will include -

• Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of injection moulding machinery and ancillary equipment
• Ensuring preventive maintenance activity is carried out on a regular basis
• Maintaining relevant documentation
• Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve production and increase machine reliability and performance

To be successful in the role of Maintenance Technician, ideal candidate will -

• Be an experienced Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Technician, Multi-Skilled Engineer or similar, within a manufacturing environment
• Have experience of working on plastic manufacturing machinery, such as Injection Moulding, Blow Moulding, Thermoforming or Extrusion
• Have experience with mechanical, electrical and pneumatics / hydraulics
• Mechanical and/or electrical qualifications

Working a 4-day week, you will report into the Engineering Manager, and be responsible for ensuring orders are completed on time, maintaining high levels of quality, whilst continually striving to improve processes.

As Injection Moulding Setter Technician, your duties will include -

• Setting, starting and tool changing injection moulding machines
• Ensuring that tools are set to achieve the production plan requirements
• Trouble shooting and resolving process issues / moulding defects
• Undertaking minor tool repairs
• Using overhead cranes
• Participating in the Continuous Improvement projects

As injection Moulding Setter Technician, ideal candidate will -

• Have experience of working within a plastic injection moulding environment, setting machines, changing tools, resolving moulding issues and making process improvements
• Have experience of processing various materials
