A Steel Operative / Overhead Crane Operator is required for an internationally trading steel company based in the Halesowen area.

If you have experience within the steel industry this steel operative / overhead crane operator position could be ideal for you. You will be responsible for the banding up of steel, operating cranes to handle steel and driving counterbalance forklift trucks, amongst other duties.

Duties include;

• Working on the back end of processing lines, e.g. Slitters
• Banding up of processed steel
• Overhead crane operator and counterbalance forklift truck driver (once trained)
• Using manual and air banders
• Visual quality checks of packs

The overhead crane operator position is working day shifts initially.

Days: 6:00am - 4.30pm (with a 2:30pm finish on Fridays)

The rate of pay is starting at £10.81 per hour on days.

Once you have passed a 12 week probationary period you will be paid a daily attendance bonus of £10.94 per day. This effectively bumps your rate up by over £1 per hour (£11.81 ).

Temp ongoing position, long term prospects for the right person though you may be on the agency books for a long time.

At some point in the future they may be bringing back in a night shift so you must have flexibility to work rotating days and nights if required (Nights pay £12.72 the daily attendance bonus).
