***£45,000-£50,000 depending on experience, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, Hybrid / flexible working, and early finish Fridays***

As a Mechanical Design Engineer your duties will include -

• Planning and executing mechanical designs using CAD
• Performing computer simulations and experiments to test and refine designs
• Managing project timelines, resources, and budgets
• Documenting the design process, iterations, and test analytics.

To be successful in the role of Mechanical design Engineer, the ideal candidate will -

• Be qualified to HND/HNC level as a minimum in an Engineering discipline
• Have a minimum of 5 years industrial Mechanical Design experience
• Be proficient in the use of 2D & 3D CAD, with a good understanding of GD&T
• Be experienced in the use of FEA / Stress Analysis / Ansys
• Possess solid knowledge of manufacturing methods such as Sheet metal, machining, welding and fabrication
• Have a good knowledge of materials

A Production Supervisor is required for a steel processing and stockholding company based in the Dudley area. It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced steel processing production supervisor to join an established company within the steel industry. They are constantly growing and have continued their success throughout the pandemic.

You will be responsible for overseeing 15 - 20 employees, mainly covering machine operators, overhead crane operators / FLT drivers and labourers.

Your duties will include:

• Supervising a team of 15-20 employees
• Keeping on top of production needs
• Monitoring the production levels, i.e. tonnage per hour
• Maintaining Health & Safety protocols
• Dealing with any staffing issues that may arise

Ideally you will be a pragmatic, hands-on supervisor with considerable levels of experience within the steel processing industry.

This position is working relatively long hours, Monday to Friday, days and nights rotating weekly;

Days - 6:00am - 6:00pm (Monda to Friday)
Nights - 6:00pm - 6:00am (Monday to Thursday)

This Production Supervisor role working the above hours is paying in the region of £13.10 per hour for your first 40 hours on days, and £15.72 for the remaining hours on days, and all 48 hours on nights, dependent on experience.

• Operating an overhead crane to handle steel
• Driving a counterbalance FLT

• Banding, packing and palletising stock
• Working on Goods In / Goods Out

This position is working days and nights rotating;

6:00am - 6:00pm (6:00am - 2:00pm Friday) days - 56 hours per week
6:00pm - 6:00am (Monday to Thursday) nights - 48 hours per week

The rate of pay is £10.40 on days (first 40 hours) and £12.48 on nights (and anything over 40 hours on days).
