Production Team Leader position has just become available for a well-established Engineering business, located near the Birmingham area. Working through a period of growth, this well-regarded business will be paying a competitive starting salary, to a successful professional.

Production Team Leader duties include -

  • Work closely with the Engineering department, to ensure materials are issued to the production department and on time for the required projects.
  • Manage the production department and ensure that the products are built and delivered within the required budget and timescale requirements.
  • View project plans and allocate the appropriate staff levels.
  • Review staff KPI's and Implement development plans where required.
  • Look to make cost savings, reduce scrap and make general process improvements.

Production Team Leader desirable skills/experience/attributes -

Manufacturing Engineer

Pension, 2x life ass., 33 days holiday

This international market leading manufacturer is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join an established team where you be responsible for providing Engineering support to ensure health & safety, quality, efficiency and repeatability including current and new equipment.

As Manufacturing Engineer, your duties will include -

  • Verifying that manufacturing processes are fit for purpose by achieving quality and performance targets and ensuring that the there are no health and safety issues.
  • Providing a link between NPI team and Manufacturing including monitor and support trial batch ensuring a smooth handover of tooling, fixturing and associated process specifications.
  • Ensure that root causes are identified to implement robust corrective actions.
  • Develop operating instructions and troubleshooting guides for Production processes/equipment. Monitor Production processes, identifying and justifying potential improvements.
  • Investigate breakdowns and propose future preventive actions.

To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will -

  • Have worked in a similar role, and hold the title of Manufacturing Engineer, Manufacturing Technician, Production Engineer, Production Technician, or similar.
  • Be experienced with problem solving / trouble-shooting, ideally having knowledge of 8D, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Fishbone diagrams, etc.
  • Have experience of lean manufacturing / process improvement.
  • Hold an engineering qualification or have a served an apprenticeship.

On Offer -

A salary of between £28-35k, working Monday- Friday 7am-3.30pm, Company pension - 5% contributions, 33 days holiday, subsidised canteen.

Parts Team Leader

£27000 - £30000 per annum

A Parts Team Leader is required for a global manufacturing company based in Stoke Mandeville, Aylesbury. As a Parts Team Leader you are responsible for the day to day operations of the Parts Team. This role is a permanent position.

The main requirements, duties and skills of the Parts Team Leader include:

  • People management - supervising the Parts Team
  • Manage and improve customer service/sales processes
  • Managing stock (parts) control/budgets and turnover
  • Working to set targets and KPI's
  • Monitor and improve sales orders
  • Customer service for spare parts (managing quotes, advice and complaints)
  • To store and collate technical information
  • Managing credit notes

In addition to the above duties, the successful Parts Team Leader will also carry out regular stock checks.

Field Service Engineer - Injection Moulding Machinery

Pension, OT, Vehicle, Helathcare...

This leading manufacturer of injection moulding machinery is currently seeking Field Service Engineers to join their service team. Opportunities exist both in the Midlands and in the Buckinghamshire area, however both roles will provide national cover.

As Field Service Engineer your duties will include -

  • Service & repair plastics moulding machines & equipment to approved standards
  • Configure machines to customer's specifications
  • Commission machines to approved standards and within agreed time scales
  • Provide support & instructions to customers
  • Fault finding diagnosis supported by Tech Service
  • Fault finding on ancillary equipment
  • Complete the company's documentation on time, accurately & efficiently, particularly:
  • Service / Commissioning reports
  • Spare parts return documentation
  • Personnel records

Area: Midlands or Buckinghamshire (but will be expected to travel extensively in the UK and will need to stay away from home on a regular basis)

To be successful in the role of Field Service Engineer, the ideal Candidate will -

  • Have experience in the maintenance of microprocessor controlled injection moulding machines or similar equipment
  • A recognised electrical or electronic qualification

Toolmaker

This leading manufacturer of plastic products with a presence in over 20 countries are currently seeking a Toolmaker to join their growing UK operation.

As Toolmaker your duties will include -

  • Planned maintenance activities in line with tool and schedule attainment taking into consideration any legal requirements.
  • Supporting shift toolmakers in maintaining tooling to maintain customer service and required OEE.
  • Involvement in tooling project work.
  • Carryout proactive work including PPM and improvement work on extrusion and mould tools
  • Involvement in long term projects on tooling


To be successful in the role of Toolmaker, the ideal Candidate will

  • Have completed a Toolmaking apprenticeship, with experience of working as a Toolmaker or Toolroom Technician
  • Have worked with Injection mould or extrusion tools
  • Have conventional machining experience (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.

Toolmaker - CNC

£35000 - £45000 per annum

Days based role. New tooling and maintenance/repair. Salary to £45k.

Established over 30 years ago this specialist manufacturer of plastic parts and mould tooling is currently looking for a days based Toolmaker/CNC Machinist to join their busy Toolroom, where you will be responsible for the effective manufacture of new mould parts and repair of mould tooling, jigs, fixtures and modifications as required.

As CNC Machinist/ Toolmaker, your duties will include

  • The manufacture in part or total a plastic injection mould tool from a general assembly
  • To maintain and repair existing production mould tooling to a high standard.
  • To examine and understand detailed drawings or specifications to determine a BOM for a mould tool.
  • To provide technical support to help resolve day-to-day tooling issues, working closely with the technical department and production.
  • Maintain the highest standards of safe working at all times, with regard to own safety and that of colleagues working in close proximity.

To be successful in the role of CNC Machinist / Toolmaker, the ideal Candidate will -

  • Be time served who can demonstrate experience in plastic injection moulding tool manufacture, maintenance and repair or a similar high tech industry.
  • Be conversant with the latest CNC machining Techniques, preferably with Heidenhain and Siemens machine control experience.
  • Have experience of Mastercam X or equivalent (Delcam)
  • Be able to work unsupervised and produce work to a high standard of precision.
  • Be familiar with the use of modern measuring devices.

Working within a busy Mouldshop your duties will include -

  • Condition setting of machines
  • Tool changing
  • Trouble shooting

  • Have experience of working in a similar role, and likely to hold the job title of Injection Moulding Setter or Technician.
  • Have experience with a range of materials
  • Have worked with moulding machines such as Negri Bossi, Boy, Arburg, Krauss Maffei, Demag, Engel, Sandretto, or Battenfeld.

Injection Mould Toolmaker

33 days holiday, pension, life assurance

This well-established high volume manufacturing company is currently seeking an Injection Mould Toolmaker to join their team, where you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of plastic injection moulds and tooling in line with production and customer requirements to support business objectives. This role will be working rotating weeks (Mon-Fri) of earlies and lates.

As Toolmaker your duties will include -

  • The repair and maintenance of production tools is carried out in line with production requirement in the allocated time frame.
  • To modify tools as required by business or customer request.
  • Produce new tools, moulds and hot plate welding jigs in line with project and business objectives.
  • Test and confirm electrical and hydraulic/pneumatic operation of tools before return to production.
  • Being proactive in making tooling modifications to improve scrap cycle time and tool reliability.

To be successful in the role of Toolmaker, the ideal Candidate will -

  • Will have served a Toolmaking apprenticeship, and have worked in an Injection Mould Toolmaker position.
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of 'Hot runner systems' i.e. Mould masters & HRS
  • Have experience of Tig welding skills and certification
  • Demonstrate excellent bench 'hand skills' i.e. filing and forming
  • Capable of polishing to 3 micron mirror finish
