Field Service Engineer - Injection Moulding Machinery

Pension, OT, Vehicle, Helathcare...

This leading manufacturer of injection moulding machinery is currently seeking Field Service Engineers to join their service team. Opportunities exist both in the Midlands and in the Buckinghamshire area, however both roles will provide national cover.

As Field Service Engineer your duties will include -

  • Service & repair plastics moulding machines & equipment to approved standards
  • Configure machines to customer's specifications
  • Commission machines to approved standards and within agreed time scales
  • Provide support & instructions to customers
  • Fault finding diagnosis supported by Tech Service
  • Fault finding on ancillary equipment
  • Complete the company's documentation on time, accurately & efficiently, particularly:
  • Service / Commissioning reports
  • Spare parts return documentation
  • Personnel records

Area: Midlands or Buckinghamshire (but will be expected to travel extensively in the UK and will need to stay away from home on a regular basis)

To be successful in the role of Field Service Engineer, the ideal Candidate will -

  • Have experience in the maintenance of microprocessor controlled injection moulding machines or similar equipment
  • A recognised electrical or electronic qualification

Automation Projects Manager

This major player in capital equipment for the Injection Moulding industry is currently seeking an Automation Projects Manager to be responsible for handling customer projects from quotation through to completion as well as developing new business.

The role is home based, but will involve travel throughout the UK and Ireland, with occasional visits to France.

As Automation Projects Manager your duties will include -

  • Acting as customer liaison on automation projects, from enquiry through to delivered solution; including meetings with Customers and the Automation department to oversee key project elements and for sign off prior to delivery.
  • Develop new automation business in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
  • Translate business requirements into engineering requirements.
  • Work with UK vendors and automation department to facilitate selection.
  • Manage UK vendors to deliver part or total solutions in a cost effective way.
  • Identify, manage and follow of local automation suppliers (with the support of the automation department)
  • Visit customers after delivery and commissioning to ensure successful sign off of project, working with the automation department and UK service department to resolve any issues that may arise.

To be successful in the role of Automation Projects Manager, the ideal Candidate -

  • Will come from an injection moulding background, with automated systems/ Robotics/Material Handling Equipment experience.
  • Be qualified to HNC/HND/Degree level in an engineering practice.
  • Will be able to demonstrate experience in managing projects, preferably in downstream automation of production processes.
  • Will have commercial ability relating to project costs and contracts.
  • Have some ability to operate a CAD system

Senior Controls Engineer main duties:

Co-ordinate electrical design, software design and commissioning activities.

Take responsibility for Controls budgets and take responsibility for procurement of electrical equipment.

Design and production of electrical layout and schematic drawings using AutoCAD/EPLAN.

Design, testing and commissioning of PLC software.

Senior Controls Engineer previous experience required:

Minimum of HNC/HND in electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Good understanding of industrial network equipment, for example, Profibus, Profinet, ASi , TCP/IP.

Robot Service Engineer

£37000 - £38000 per annum Car and benefits

A global manufacturer of Robot Technology, have an exciting new role within their field service team and are looking for talented robotic service engineers to come on board. The role is a mixture of installation, commissioning and service of robotic technology all over the UK. Package includes a strong base salary of Circa £38K, plus overtime, company vehicle and expenses, pension, private health care and 33 days holiday.


The company

The company are a multi million pound turnover business that have a direct supply to manufacturing businesses all over the UK. They have headquarters in France and other sites based in Europe too. They also own various subsidiary companies globally with various distributors of their products.


The Role

Responsibilities for the service engineer include -

- Installation, Commissioning & Service of robotic equipment which are installed and integrated onto production lines within manufacturing companies.
- Programming of Bespoke PLC's and controls on the robot equipment
- Routine service, checks and breakdown maintenance
- Heavily involved with commissioning of projects and updating software on the Robots
- Providing end user support to customers as well as training and demonstration delivery
- Having an autonomous 'hands on' approach managing of workload and time constraints to ensure the delivery of projects effectively

This role represents and excellent opportunity to work in a growing business within a solid and stable market, and will enjoy a high degree of freedom in helping evolve and develop this crucial position.

There is a robust training package with this role too, due to the bespoke nature of the robots and their PLC's, candidates MUST be prepared to spend time in France training at head office, 10 weeks training in total booked in blocks of 4 weeks at a time.

The Successful Candidate

The ideal candidate will have the following demonstrable skills -

Either HND or HNC in an Electrical Discipline
A background in Robot PLC technology
Strong PLC programming skills
Experience installation, commissioning and service of machinery or robots
Flexibility towards working all over the UK, with possible overnight stays if the business requires you to
A clean UK Drivers License

The Package

Basic salary of up to £38K, but is negotiable for the right person
Overtime paid for any weekends, at Time & 1/2 Saturday, Double Time Sunday
